Our vision is of  “a connected and family-friendly community, in which children develop well, feel safe and secure, and are happy, healthy, learning, and active.”

Mission Australia’s Communities for Children (CfC) is an early intervention and prevention program that aims to improve the development, health and wellbeing of children aged 12 and under by addressing local needs and encouraging community participation.

Communities for Children Cairns South and Communities for Children Yarrabah are looking for volunteers to become enthusiastic members of a Community Committee.  Community members who are interested in:

  • Playing a part and inclusive in decisions regarding their community.
  • Children are supported to reach their potential by receiving the education and opportunities required to fully develop socially, emotionally, culturally, physically and spiritually;
  • Children live well – receiving all the basic needs of food, clothing, shelter and health; and most importantly are free from harm, protected from all forms of abuse and neglect.
